The beautiful view in this room was expanded even more by removing lower wall cabinets and replacing them with windows to create a floor-to-ceiling view. Design tip: Fill shelves with a cool collection that you might already have; in this case, it was an old-camera collection.


To update this room, the floors and cabinetry were stained ebony and the paneling white, with a light beige tone on the walls. The black marble that was on the face of the fireplace below the mantel was removed and replaced with wood, which was also stained ebony. Design tip: Try installing an electric fireplace like this one. It's not difficult to do, and when you want a "fire," you just turn it on!
